  • The Grange University Hospital is a new specialist and critical care centre in Gwent, intended for patients who require complex diagnostics, treatment and care. After consultation, it was decided that the theme for the screens should be the natural environment of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s catchment area.

  • The designs represent some of the different landscapes of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Newport, Torfaen and Monmouthshire, from the mountains to the sea, from the industrial heritage to its indigenous flora and fauna.

In particular, the work is based around five walking routes through contrasting areas of the region:

RSPB Newport Wetlands Nature Reserve on the Gwent Levels (ground floor)

The Brecknock & Abergavenny Canal at Llanfoist (first floor)

Wye Valley – Brockweir to Tintern (second floor)

    Blaenavon (third floor)

    Pontypool Park (fourth floor)
